Training plays
an increasingly important role in the security industry. City
Security Services provides its employees with the best training
opportunities available.
Our induction-training
program, which includes classroom and on-site training, is structured
and supported by SITO
(Security Industry Training Organisation) - the only UK Government
approved training body for the security industry. All training carried
out at City Security Services is carefully tailored to meet
the needs of each individual client.
Current
codes of practice stipulate a minimum of two days of induction training
followed by one-day site familiarisation training. City Security
Services sets its standards higher. As such, we adopt a highly
flexible but focused approach to our program, with allocated time
for all aspects of the training being reviewed on a case-by-case
basis dependent on client requirements.
Classroom
Training
Our
classroom induction-training program includes known criteria and
assignment information, together with the standard induction-training
subjects. In addition, we train our staff on interpersonal skills,
telephone and message handling, as well as people management skills.
The classroom
induction training is carried out at our headquarters, in a SITO
approved training room. The course is instructed utilising spoken
word, visual aids, practical exercises and written tests. It is
conducted by our highly knowledgeable and competent Personnel
Department.
On Site Training
During on site training our Security Officers are instructed on
methods of application relevant to their duties, utilising a predetermined
bespoke training plan. This training plan is designed with each
client's specific needs in mind. We liaise closely with our clients,
and invite their input in relation to these plans and the tasks
therein. This ensures not only client satisfaction but also helps
us formulate a clear understanding of our clients' requirements.
Specialist
Training
Additional specialist training (which is provided by recognised
training bodies and fully certificate) in both FIRST AID and FIRE
can be undertaken upon client request (supplementary fees apply,
please enquire for further details).
Additional
Training
We are aware that the transient nature of the business world needs
to be reflected in the services we provide, therefore we are constantly
reviewing our operations in order to recognise any potential shortfall
(or over manning) before it arises. Also this additional training
aids us in identifying the need for refresher training, responding
to requirements in furnishing individual officers with new skills
specific to client needs.
In providing
our staff genuine career opportunities, we actively promote
vocational training to NVQ/City and guilds standards, adopting the
SITO
distance learning scheme for the 'Professional Security Officer'
and 'Advanced Security Officer' qualifications.
Together with
these qualifications, we also run internal and external training
courses, to assist our staff with personal and career development.
Some of the
additional training courses available at City Security Services
include:
1.
Site Supervisor Development
2.
Operations Controller
3. Train the Trainer
4. Site Surveying Skills.
